Cole Story Ford, a Coldwater FLM dealership, has announced the safety features on the 2011 Ford Edge, including the exclusive AdvanceTrac.
Coldwater Ford dealership Cole Story Ford is excited to tell customers about the new 2011 Ford Edge- and its cutting-edge safety features. The 2011 Ford Edge is available now at the Michigan FLM dealership.
“With class-exclusive safety technology and solid unibody construction, the 2011 Ford Edge will continue to be a leader in safety,” said Elaine Bannon, Edge chief engineer. “For families who place a premium on safety, the new Edge features several new available technologies that can help avoid an accident.”
The 2010 Edge can detect when a collision is forthcoming and the collision warning with brake support features work to reduce speed, charge brakes and provide a red warning light and beep to warn drivers. This also employs an electronic brake assist system to help drivers stop faster.
The 2011 Ford Edge features Ford Motor Company’s exclusive AdvanceTrac with RSC standard in all models. These two features work together to maintain a driver’s path. The electronic stability control system keeps drivers on track by measuring side-to-side yaw through steering angle, lateral acceleration and yaw rate sensors that work together to automatically make necessary braking and throttle adjustments.
If the wheels begin to slip during inclement weather or any other circumstance, AdvanceTrac reduces engine torque and applies the selected brakes.
The cruise control of the Edge works in overtime as it doesn’t just maintain speed, but looks ahead for changes in speed. The adaptive cruise control has the advanced radar technology that monitors traffic and scans for slower vehicles and can set the system to adapt the current conditions until traffic clears. In addition to speed settings, gap settings can also be set for optimal safety.
The 2011 Ford Edge also contains many other safety features to further ensure the safety of the driver and passengers, including a Blind Spot Information System to help detect vehicles in blind spots and rear view cameras that automatically engage when in reverse.
