Michigan Chevrolet dealer Cole Krum Chevrolet has announced that the eagerly anticipated 2011 Chevrolet Cruze is designed with the safety of its passengers in mind. The car has a segment-leading 10 air bags!
The 2011 Cruze, a 4-door sedan, was created to replace the Cobalt as the compact car in the GM lineup. Besides the great safety features of this car, Chevy drivers have a lot more to look forward to in this all-new vehicle.
The Cruze is available in four models, LS, LT, LTZ, and fuel-economy-oriented Eco trim levels. The Cruze Eco models have ultra-low-rolling-resistance tires and other aerodynamic tweaks designed to increase fuel economy, which is an EPA-estimated 40 mpg.
All models are available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The LS has a 136-horsepower 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine and all other models have a 138-horsepower turbocharged 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine.
Standard features for driver comfort on the Cruze include satellite radio, traction control and air conditioning. These features are not standard on other vehicles in the Cruze’s class.
The Cruze is led by its segment-leading 10 airbags. The airbags are standard on all Cruze models and include dual stage airbags, head-curtain airbags mounted in the roof rail, seat mounted, side-impact airbags and front and rear airbags.
Other safety features are front passenger seat occupant sensing system and rollover sensing and protection system. The Cruze also has a collapsible pedal assembly, which can minimize injuries to the driver in a head-on collision.
The 2011 Cruze is set to arrive at the Vicksburg Chevrolet dealership later this year.
